You can just run WinUAE in windowed mode and drag them from your PC into the window, open the folder(s) that appear then move them from inside those to where you need them.įrom my understanding the main ones you need are a Kickstart 1.3 image, renamed as kick34005.A500 and a 3.1, renamed as kick40068.A1200, if you're using Cloanto's Amiga Forever kickstarts you'll also need to copy the rom.key file, I think. From my understanding though it's a case of getting the kickstarts, renaming them, then copying them from your PC into the devs:kickstarts folder.

I'm not totally clued up on the technical side of this admittedly and my memory is a bit hazy from when I did it, so apologies if I've got any of this slightly wrong. It took a while to figure out but it's something to do with some WHDLoad games using a kickemu, which needs access to the kickstarts to run, and it won't access the ones WinUAE is using from your computer, they need to be on the "Amiga side", so to speak. I had similar issues when I was installing ClassicWB to use WHDLoad and yeah, some games need those kickstart files to be in the "devs:kickstart" folder within the ClassicWB environment to run and they need to be named appropriately.
